A Dream Fullfilled....

You Are Missed

Tim Russert May 7, 1950 - June 13, 2008

Peter Jennings July 29, 1939 - August 7, 2005

You both have been there for every election I can remember even if that number is small. We need to respect you both and recognize the contributions that you made while you were here. I know you are in a special place with my father, Barack's grandmother and mother. If you were both here you would celebrate the change.

Never would have made it

He won Ohio

Even Jack would have checked in by now

I am not posting in real time for now

I am going to study because that is what I need to do in order to graduate and do well

4:59 pm

I had something here but dont know what happened

2:40 pm

Yahoo poll has Obama up!!!

1:58 pm

It's not critical time now. Critcal time will come when I am in class, studying or driving home but I still write. Yahoo has McCain up 0.2% and Obama down 0.1%. He is still ahead but I would be lying if I said I wasn't concerned.

Foxnews is reporting in Philly that two Black Panthers are blocking and intimidating voters. The thing that is typical of them is when you click on the link attached to the headline there is no mention of the black panthers. I would love to know what they were doing to make the voters feel intimidated. Where they dressed in all black or were they just guilty of the crime of being black.

CNN.com has a map of poll closings by state. I won't hear anything until at least 7pm. So I continue to wait.

12:38 PM

Still nothing. What would Jack Bauer do with idle time? He would take action because he is a man of action? I guess its back to business as usual.

11:58 am

Blasted spyware virus. Someone put a virus on my computer. I wonder if it was the GOP. Someone needs to address this problem now. Even though I missed my 11:00 am update I will still prevail and write about this day.

Now time to check the news.

CNN.com
Nothing

Yahoo.com
Nothing

Foxnews.com
Nothing

I did notice one thing. They had pictures of McCain casting his vote on the homepage and not Obama.

10:18 am

The boss caught me morning but I diverted attention away from the fact that I was chilling at the front counter to the election. Jack would be proud that I did not use violence to control a situation.

My webcam is up but I can only see a portion of the office. Wait I hear him coming...

I will have to watch my time. Haven't looked at the progress of the election yet.

So now we wait.

9:29 am

The boss isn't here yet or is he...?

We all know how Jack Bauer handles people in positions of authority how should I? Should I take control of the situation like Jack or should I upload a mysterious untraceable computer virus like Chole? I need an ally someone to watch for when he walks past my cubicle. Whom should I ask to be my Tony today.

My task at hand is to document my day. Today is history and I must write about it in real time.

7:14 am

I think I made myself late looking for this clip and I'm still not satisfied with it. Jack would not approve. He would have yelled at me for using precious CTU time and not getting Chole on the job.

7:00 am

This will be the longest day of my life

Quiet Before the Storm

I don't know what to say. I just remain hopeful for so many reasons. I hope the country will make the correct choice tomorrow and we can move forward. How do I visit the Midwest knowing that part of the country feels that I am a second class citizen. November 4, 2008 history will be made. I am curious to know where I will end up in this crazy plan God has for us. I just have the faith that he will get us through.

....

I usually write as I watch whether it was the debate or the convention.

8 minutes in I am speechless...

I will say one thing so I guess I am not speechless

Barack Obama I hope you are not writing checks your ass can't cash. I hope the world will allow the man to do his job and partisanship and racism will not deter him from that.

Ok maybe it is impossible for me to be speechless. For the people who say Barack isn't clear on what he is going to do.

I say Tim Kaine President 2012. Have you ever heard this man? You need to.

I noticed on youtube there are many people that are well versed in Marx and socialism that they neglected to pick up a US history text book. This country will never be communist. Any program, plan or bill he plans to introduce needs the approval of the House and the Senate. If it does you don't blame the President you blame your local Congressman.

McCain Campaign Volunteer Admits Alleged Attack Was a Hoax
A woman who lied about being attacked because of the McCain bumper sticker on her car will face charges of filing a false report.

PITTSBURGH -- A 20-year-old volunteer for John McCain's campaign has admitted that she lied when she said she was attacked by a robber who carved a "B" into her cheek when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on her car, Pittsburgh police said Friday.

Ashley Todd, 20, of College Station, Texas, will be charged with filing a false report, a misdemeanor, police said.

"She told lie after lie, and the situation compounded to where we are right now," Lt. Kevin Kraus, head of major crimes for the Pittsburgh police, said Friday.

Todd had told police that on Wednesday night at 9 o'clock ET, a 6-foot-4 black male in dark jeans and a black tank top held her up at an ATM machine in Bloomfield, Pa. Todd said the robber put a knife to her neck and demanded money. She said she gave him $60, according to the police report.

Todd, who is white, said the robber then noticed the McCain bumper sticker on her car, punched her in the back of her head, knocked her down, and continued to punch and kick her while threatening to teach her a lesson.

"You are going to be a Barack supporter," she said the robber told her before he sat on her chest, pinned her hands down with his knees and scratched the letter "B" on the right side of her face, using what she believed to be a very dull knife. The robber then fled, Todd said in the police report.

On Friday, officials said they had found several "inconsistencies" in Todd's statements. She was brought back to police headquarters, where she finally confessed that she had made the entire story up.

"After a while, she just simply stated that she wanted to tell the truth," said Maurita Bryant, assistant chief for investigations.

Todd confessed to police that she was driving alone, looked in the mirror, saw her black eye and the "B" on her face, and didn't know how they got there. She assumed she could have done it herself, she said, and then she made up the story about the attacker.

"She saw the 'B' on her face, and she immediately thought about Barack," Bryant said.

Kraus said the 'B' was what first led him to suspect Todd's story. He said he was struck by how neatly the letter was etched on her face.

Police suspect Todd's wounds were self-inflicted. She remained at police headquarters on Friday afternoon, because police "have concern for her well-being," Kraus said. He said officials are trying to determine whether she needs psychiatric evaluation.

"She hasn't really shown any obvious remorse," Kraus said. "She's certainly surprised that it snowballed to where it is today."

"It's been a huge waste of time and man hours," said Bryant, adding that police had been working on the story since it broke Thursday.

Police said Todd did not have a lawyer, and that her none of her family were in Pittsburgh.

Earlier in the day, Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard would not say whether police doubted Todd's story, but bank surveillance footage did not show Todd at the Citizens Bank ATM where she claimed the assault took place.

Richard told FOX News that Todd had been staying with a male friend who lives down the street from the ATM.

A woman named Liz who answered the door at the residence where Todd arrived after her purported attack told FOXNews.com that her roommate is friends with Todd, and he told Liz not to discuss any details about the incident. A Ford Taurus with a Texas license plate and a McCain-Palin sticker was parked outside.

Richard said Todd later added to her tale, saying she was groped by the robber and lost consciousness during the assault. Neither of those details was in the original report.

Richard said that after a second interview, Todd was not as definitive about the assault or the motives behind it, nor could she say for certain whether the robber took $60 from her, as she initially reported and still maintained was missing.

Todd took a polygraph test late Thursday or early Friday after police heard the inconsistencies, Richard said.

'There were major changes in her story" before and after the polygraph test, Richard said. As for the wound on her cheek, "it's very shallow, it's more of a scratch."

Before Todd's admission, Richard had said the police department was taking the report "very seriously" and considered Todd a "victim" while the investigation was ongoing.

The area at Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street where Todd had said the attack took place is heavily traveled in the daytime, full of traffic, pedestrians, restaurants and stores. On Friday, Pittsburgh detectives canvassed the area looking for witnesses.

Doug Graham, a neighbor of the residence where Todd's friend lives, told FOXNews.com it's unlikely an assault at the bank would go unnoticed.

"There ain't no way nobody saw that," said Graham, whose home -- where he has lived for a decade -- sports a Barack Obama sign. "It's always hopping up there. Something fishy, I knew the first second I saw [her story]. Something fishy."

Ethan Eilon, executive director of the College Republicans National Committee, told FOX News that Todd was volunteering as a field representative through his organization and that she had taken a year off from her studies at Blinn College to work on the campaign.

Todd received a call from the Republican presidential nominee on Thursday night. Barack Obama's local campaign team also issued well-wishes and said it hoped her assailant would be caught and brought to justice.

FOX News' Judson Berger and Carl Cameron and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Someone has figured out how Palin does it

One day, Lawanda (my soror and just ride or die chick) decided to google her name. She came across this blog because he had a story about another LP that was a stripper and got her self in trouble. This was two years ago and since then I've been following his blog. Thank you Dark Damian for posting this pic

How Racism Works...

I found this on another website and just had to post. I know it was going around in an email.

  • What if John McCain were a former president of the Harvard Law Review?
  • What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?
  • What if McCain were still married to the first woman he said “I do” to?
  • What if Obama were the candidate who left his first wife after she no longer measured up to his standards?
  • What if Michelle Obama were a wife who not only became addicted to pain killers, but acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?
  • What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?
  • What if Obama were a member of the Keating-5?
  • What if McCain were a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are? This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.
You are The Boss… which team would you hire? With America facing historic debt, 2 wars, stumbling health care, a weakened dollar, all-time high prison population, mortgage crises, bank foreclosures, etc. - all solvable.

Educational Background: Obama: Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization in International Relations. Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

Biden: University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science. Syracuse University, College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

Now, which team are you going to hire ?

What if Barack Obama had an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter and what would we say then, in the press? We are not always fair and ask some to be above the rest of us, but we are all human and all things to consider in voting. Either way the Congress makes and passes the Bills that govern us. Contest Offers Engaged Couples Who Abstain a $10,000 Wedding

Thursday, October 23, 2008

An abstinence education program in Georgia is offering couples who abstain from sex before marriage a chance to win a $10,000 wedding.
The nonprofit Marriage Appreciation Training Uplifting Relationship Education is offering the Marriage of a Lifetime contest to couples who live in Rockdale, DeKalb and Newton counties, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. But so far, there have been no entries, despite the looming Oct. 31 deadline.

“There is a romantic end of it, but we are also looking for a couple that is committed and who will work through struggles,” Phillippia Faust, the director of the abstinence education program, told the paper. “And we are looking for a couple that is choosing a lifestyle that is not compromising, and premarital sex is a compromiser.”

In addition to promising not to have sex before marriage, couples must agree to allow the public to attend their wedding as well as undergo premarital counseling, the paper said. FoxNews Yes I read foxnews.

What sort of test do you think exists to test the virginity of a man or a woman? If they had sex how would you really know? I know for a women you can check the hymen but even that test has flaws. What if you had sex but decided at a later date to choose the path of abstinence. Should you be penalized for past indiscretions?

The flip side of this are the people who are not signing up for this. I guess since there have been times in my life where I have gone years without sex holding out for a little while seems sweet. How special is your wedding night going to be when you have not been with the person you love in 6 months. I think people take that feeling of love and sex for granted. You have the rest of your life to do it.

Moving on...

Hospital bills woman who never saw a doctor
Nurse checked her vitals during 19-hour wait for treatment of broken leg

DALLAS - A woman says she waited 19 hours at Parkland Memorial Hospital’s emergency department for treatment of a broken leg and never did get to see a doctor — but still got a bill for $162.

Amber Joy Milbrodt, who said she broke a bone in her leg while playing volleyball, received the bill two weeks after her Sept. 24 visit.

Parkland officials say the bill was appropriate because a nurse spent time checking her vital signs to assess her level of need.

But that’s not how Milbrodt sees it. “It should have been more like them paying me for having to sit in the emergency room for 19 hours,” she told The Dallas Morning News.

The assessment by the nurse, which lasted a few minutes, established her place in line that night. By that time, Milbrodt said, she had already been waiting about 3½ hours.

She still had not been called more than 15 hours later, so she gave up and went home. She had an X-ray taken at a chiropractic school where she is a student, and that had already confirmed that she had a fracture.

“She’s not paying for waiting,” says Rick Rhine, the hospital’s vice president in charge of billing. “She’s paying for the assessment she received.”

Milbrodt, 29, who has no insurance, said she does not plan to pay. After leaving the ER, she rested at home for a few days and then put her leg in a brace, which she still wears. It seems to be healing, she said.

Now the initial question is, "who is to blame for this"? Can you blame the hospital? I say no and I will tell you why. Hospitals are bombarded daily with patients who come because they have no health care and need routine care. The emergency room is supposed to be for emergencies only. How are ER doctors supposed to address emergency when Bobby's mom brings him there for an earache.

So if we can't blame the hospital who should we blame the patient? I say no as well. At 29 years old (and I can attest to this) it is very easy to be a hard working adult with no health insurance because at one time in my life that was me. And I looked for health insurance. Medicaid, Family Health Plus, Healthy NY, Insurance through the temp agency I worked for and there was a problem with them all. Didn't qualify for Medicaid or Family Health Plus. I qualified for Healthy NY but the coverage was so basic it was more cost effective to just be sick or hope I didn't get sick. The same thing went for the health Insurance the temp agency was offering.

Who do I blame? I blame the government and the people who feel health care for all is a socialist principle. Universal health care will help everything. In addition to cutting back unnecessary visits to the ER, we will have less delinquent hospital bills. Maybe if those medical bills didn't exist people would have more money for bills or to be consumers.

What does this image say to you

This image speaks volumes to me. Senator Lieberman sold his soul to the devil and for what? Florida where you at and why are you not as outraged as me?
There are people who believe that America should be run by White Christan males which Joe you are not. You are of the Jewish faith. The people that support you hate you as much as they hate Obama. I wonder what the rhetoric sounds like when you are standing at the podium behind McCain

Yet another reason I fear the worst

I Need A Hobby

All of my posts are politcal or about some relationshit. When I get to the new spot I'm going to find something else to do with myself because I started to create another post for the day about the guy I saw last night and I kind of like.

Wow that was just one massive run. Whew!

Who would be the better president?

I pose the question to anyone that cares to answer. Who is would be a better president?

This man...

or this man...

The former John McCain would have been a great president. He was robbed eight years ago and I feel in his hands our country would have been in better shape. The problem was eight years ago he was the maverick he was the one to change Washington but the powers that be wanted it to stay the same. They found a puppet in George W. Bush and pushed him into the presidency instead. There is a good side and a bad side to all of this. The next white person that tells me people don't think the say they did in 1955 I will just refer them to youtube.

But I digress...

There is one thing Senator McCain said that has been sticking with me all day.

Speaking on Fox News Sunday, McCain said he respects and admires Powell, and the announcement "doesn't come as a surprise."

It's not a surprise? Why don't you say what you really feel McCain. All the darkies are going to stick together on this one. Do you really think that low of us Senator McCain. Do you really believe that we are going to vote for Senator Obama just because he is black. This fool could be running for president and I wouldn't vote for him. Among others that are not qualified for the job.

The question I want to ask to the racist folk that are afraid that a black president will mean we will lose the country is "What are you really afraid of?" A hundred years ago they were afraid to free the slaves for fear we wouldn't know what to do or know how to adapt to a free culture because we were meant to be slaves. They set us free and most of us (despite what BET tells you) are doing fine. I think the real fear of a black president is little black boys and girls growing up and not believing the only way to be successful in this life is to be an athlete or an entertainer.

Colin Powell Endorses Barack Obama

There will be two posts about this. First the transcript on what Mr. Powell really said. I want people to really take a look at what this man is saying and not the soundbites the news is reporting.

Colin Powell: I think that Sen. Obama brings a fresh set of of eyes, a fresh set of ideas to the table. I think that Sen. McCain, as gifted as he is, is essentially going to execute the Republican agenda, the orthodoxy of the Republican agenda with a new face and with a maverick approach to it. And he'd be quite good at it. But I think we need more than that. I think we need a generational change. And I think Sen. Obama has captured the feelings of the young people of America and is reaching out in a more diverse, inclusive way across our society. Watch Powell tell why he supports Obama »

Reporter: Could you talk to us about when your decision was made final? When did you finally set your heart on Sen. Obama?

Powell: I have been watching, as I said [on "Meet the Press"], for a long time, and then, within the past couple of months, I really said, you know, you just can't keep watching. You've got to kind of settle down.

And frankly, it was in the period leading up to the conventions, and then the decisions that came out of the conventions, and then just sort of watching the responses of the two individuals on the economic crisis. It gave me an opportunity to evaluate their judgment, to evaluate their way of approaching a problem, to evaluate the steadiness of their actions. And it was at that point that I realized that, to my mind, anyway, that Sen. Obama has demonstrated the kind of calm, patient, intellectual, steady approach to problem-solving that I think we need in this country.

Reporter: Mr. Secretary, there were a number of chinks in your own armor, actually, because of the lead-up to the Iraq war and the events. How much did that play into your decision about this? And will it be taken perhaps by some, because of your previous high-profile position, won't it be taken by some as a repudiation of the Iraq war?

Powell: I don't know why. The Iraq war is the Iraq war. We now see that things are a lot better in Iraq. Maybe if we had put a surge in at the beginning, it would have been a lot better years ago, but it's a lot better now, and we can see ahead to where U.S. forces will start to come out. And so, my concern was not my past or what happened in Iraq, but where we're going in the future. My sole concern was where are we going after January 20 of 2009, not what happened in 2003.
I'm well aware of the role I played. My role has been very, very straightforward. I wanted to avoid a war. The president agreed with me. We tried to do that. We couldn't get it through the U.N. and when the president made the decision, I supported that decision. And I've never blinked from that. I've never said I didn't support a decision to go to war.
And the war looked great until the 9th of April, when the statue fell, everybody thought it was terrific. And it was terrific. The troops had done a great job. But then we failed to understand that the war really was not over, that a new phase of the war was beginning. And we weren't ready for it and we didn't respond to it well enough, and things went very, very -- very, very south, very bad.
And now it's starting to turn around through the work of Gen. Petraeus and the troops, through the work of the Iraqi government, through our diplomatic efforts, and I hope now that this war will be brought to an end, at least as far as American involvement is concerned, and the Iraqis are going to have to be responsible for their own security and for their own political future. ...

Reporter: Sir, what part did McCain's negativity play in your decision, the negative tone of the campaign?

Powell: It troubled me. We have two wars. We have economic problems. We have health problems. We have education problems. We have infrastructure problems. We have problems around the world with our allies. So those are the problems the American people wanted to hear about, not about Mr. Ayers, not about who's a Muslim or who's not a Muslim. Those kinds of images going out on Al-Jazeera are killing us around the world.
And we have got to say to the world, it doesn't make any difference who you are or what you are, if you're an American, you're an American. And this business, for example, of the congressman from Minnesota who's going around saying, "Let's examine all congressmen to see who is pro-America or not pro-America" -- we have got to stop this kind of nonsense, pull ourselves together and remember that our great strength is in our unity and in our diversity. And so, that really was driving me.
And to focus on people like Mr. Ayers and these trivial issues, for the purpose of suggesting that somehow Mr. Obama would have some kind of terrorist inclinations, I thought that was over the top. It was beyond just good political fighting back and forth. I think it went beyond. And to sort of throw in this little Muslim connection, you know, "He's a Muslim and, my goodness, he's a terrorist" -- it was taking root. And we can't judge our people and we can't hold our elections on that kind of basis.
So, yes, that kind of negativity troubled me, And the constant shifting of the argument. I was troubled a couple of weeks ago when in the middle of the crisis, the [McCain] campaign said, "We're going to go negative," and they announced it, "We're going to go negative and attack [Obama's] character through Bill Ayers." Now I guess the message this week is, "We're going to call him a socialist, Mr. Obama is now a socialist, because he dares to suggest that maybe we ought to look at the tax structure that we have."
Taxes are always a redistribution of money. Most of the taxes that are redistributed go back to those who paid them, in roads and airports and hospitals and schools. And taxes are necessary for the common good. And there is nothing wrong with examining what our tax structure is or who should be paying more, who should be paying less. And for us to say that that makes you a socialist, I think is an unfortunate characterization that isn't accurate.
I don't want my taxes raised. I don't want anybody else's taxes raised. But I also want to see our infrastructure fixed. I don't want to have a $12 trillion national debt, and I don't want to see an annual deficit that's over $500 billion heading toward a trillion. So, how do we deal with all of this?

Reporter: Are you still a Republican?
Powell: Yes.

Reporter: Have you conveyed your decision to Sen. Obama?
Powell: Calls are being made. Thank you.

What do you say?

Thank you Sean for keeping me up to date on the political fodder.

Please visit this post on Sean's blog for how Republicans really feel.

I want to have hope I really do but its hard when you see things like that.

When Day is Done

From: When Day is Done: Play and Leisure "Stolen Chidhood: Slave Youth in Nineteenth Centruy America

A former slaveowner recalled playing with his peronal servant when they were nine or ten years old. The enslaved boy always asked, "Marse, will you give me a white man's chance?" The question gave pause to the potential for unsportsmanlike conduct based upon race.

Don't you ever miss people to all in the blogosphere. Think about it instead of writing you can be sharing your thoughts with real people instead of your computer.

One of the things that technology has stolen from me is the written word. I miss coming home and seeing a letter that came for you.

Don't you feel bad for Sondra and Elvin?

I've been looking for a picture of those two in their first apartment for days.

There is a reason for that but I will not reveal until I actually find the pic

Where Sondra and Elvin that unpopular? Its hard to find photos of them playing there characters on the show

Townhall Meeting

My writing is beginning to slow down. I've actually had school work to do and just couldn't get to it. We shall see how the events of tonight will hold. Obviously McCain is going to try to come strong.

Did I mention I have two papers to write by next week? At least I am starting the week before versus the day before or day off.

Ok Obama to start. I don't believe the economic turmoil is completely the fault of the Bush Administration. Part of it is lending money that people could not afford. And tricking people into adjustable mortgage rates.

I love Obama but his answer just sounded like rhetoric.

McCain is speaking the typical Republican mantra. Little government and energy plans. I don't believe for a minute the energy plan would benefit the middle class. It would only benefit the people that are in his inner circle.

McCain speaks of a person that you can identify with. You want to lead me but you don't identify with me and never have. You voted against the passing of a holiday for one of MY greatest leaders.

Hmmm. McCain is started with the grease early. I am not saying Freddie and Fannie are not to blame but these companies exploited poor people. They promised uneducated people the "American Dream" and banked on the fact that they wouldn't be able to pay. They wanted these people to go into foreclosure and thought they would come out like fat cats with the selling of foreclosed properties. But the joke was on them. The number of poor people grew at an exponential rate and karma happened. God don't like ugly.

Obama just said coordinate with other countries. The McCain camp is going to use that statement to say that Obama is "pallin" with other countries.

Ok I went downstairs for a minute. I am moving in less than a month. McCain is still the same. Spewing the hate. Why focus so much on what the other did. What are you going to do?

I kind of feel like McCain is walking around just to prove how healthy he is?

Will Tom Brokaw shut the fuck up? If they have an issue with time say something.

5,000!#^ Now you know McCain doesn't have a clue. That amount of money will help if you only have one thing wrong with you.

Barack knows what he is talking about when he is talking about health insurance and care.

I am not even going to comment on the McCain health plan. He just makes me want to hold on to my state job.

President Reagan is your hero?

I thought Reagan was your hero, now its Teddy Roosevelt. Wrong quote to fuck up.

McCain just accused Obama of speaking loudly. Now you declare war on Iran for attacking Israel.

Please McCain and don't try to get the American to commiserate with you.

Who told the negro to bring a camera? No one wants McCain's picture.

I love Barack Obama.

VP

I'm late. 9:18pm

Palin's been studying.

Palin wants you to buy your own health insurance. I guess working for a hospital for too long. If you only get a 5,000 credit you better not get really sick.

Middle class as Todd and I have been in the middle class. Her husband makes 93,000 a year in Alaska.

You know something about Sarah Palin that I am beginning to notice. She has huge differences to John McCain. I don't think she would govern the same way as him. She is down home and local. John McCain is not.

Get it Joey attack the voting record

Palin supports same sex benefits? Or just Alaska?

McCain's numbers will go up after this. She is doing what she supposed to do. How many times do you have to say you are tolerant?

She is honest. I'm glad she didn't try to fake the funk with gay marriage.

Ahhh shit. Foreign Policy. Lightning round.

The women can debate. But I'm glad Biden is calling her out. I think he is getting in her ass and still being respectful.

White flag of surrender. There is that cowboy mentality that gets this country in trouble.

Oh Lord the Maverick

We know when we are finished in Iraq when the Iraqi people can govern themselves. Who is to say they cannot do it now.

John McCain knows what evil is?!? You don't know evil lady till your a black man in America.

Did she just give a shout out?

Oh Lord another shout out to the Down Syndrome kid

President Cheney. I love it.

Get it Joey. Tell him about the wife. Don't you know my struggles, don't you know my pain.

When the Republicans are involved nothing got done.

How is her family diverse? I've seen the same white people in every picture. Maybe she is referring to the token adopted minority in the McCain family?

25 Fascinating Love Facts

Courtesy of MSN

1. Men who kiss their wives in the morning live five years longer than those who don't.
I used to get up before he did because I'm self conscious about my breath in the morning.

2. People are more likely to tilt their heads to the right when kissing instead of the left (65 percent of people go to the right!)
I will have to try that some times

3. When it comes to doing the deed early in the relationship, 78 percent of women would decline an intimate rendezvous if they had not shaved their legs or underarms.
I used to go out and if I were wearing pants I wouldn't shave because that meant I wouldn't hook up with anyone. Ahhh youth.

4. Feminist women are more likely than other females to be in a romantic relationship.
Now I don't believe this. All I hear from older women is what I have to do to land a husband is make myself to be dependent and not independent.

5. Two-thirds of people report that they fall in love with someone they've known for some time vs. someone that they just met.
I can believe this. Unfortunately I know I am not getting with any of the guys I know.

6. There's a reason why office romances occur: The single biggest predictor of love is proximity.
I can see this too. I would never do it. If we were to break up I would have to quit

7. Falling in love can induce a calming effect on the body and mind and raises levels of nerve growth factor for about a year, which helps to restore the nervous system and improves the lover's memory.
I don't think I've ever truly been in love. But the happiness part I agree with. The other shitty parts in your life don't seem so bad when you are in a relationship. The flip side to that is when you are having problems in your relationship everything seems catastrophic

8. Love can also exert the same stress on your body as deep fear. You see the same physiological responses — pupil dilation, sweaty palms, and increased heart rate.
Maybe

9. Brain scans show that people who view photos of a beloved experience an activation of the caudate — the part of the brain involving cravings.
Maybe

10. The women of the Tiwi tribe in the South Pacific are married at birth.
Don't tell R. Kelly

11. The "Love Detector" service from Korean cell phone operator KTF uses technology that is supposed to analyze voice patterns to see if a lover is speaking honestly and with affection. Users later receive an analysis of the conversation delivered through text message that breaks down the amount of affection, surprise, concentration and honesty of the other speaker.
The one thing I hear constantly about Korea is how advanced in technology they are. I would love to visit.

12. Eleven percent of women have gone online and done research on a person they were dating or were about to meet, versus seven percent of men.
This percentage is soooooooo much higher than that.

13. Couples' personalities converge over time to make partners more and more similar.
Maybe

14. The oldest known love song was written 4,000 years ago and comes from an area between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers.
This is one of the first modern cities. Of course.

15. The tradition of the diamond engagement ring comes from Archduke Maximillian of Austria who, in the 15th century, gave a diamond ring to his fiancée, Mary of Burgundy.
I don't need a big wedding but I refuse to walk the rest of my life with a crappy piece of jewelry

16. Forty-three percent of women prefer their partners never sign "love" to a card unless they are ready for commitment.
Maybe

17. People who are newly in love produce decreased levels of the hormone serotonin — as low as levels seen in people with obsessive-compulsive disorder. Perhaps that's why it's so easy to feel obsessed when you're smitten.
Maybe

18. Philadelphia International Airport finished as the No. 1 best airport for making a love connection, according to an online survey.
Now who did you really ask this and how much time do you really spend in an airport?

19. According to mathematical theory, we should date a dozen people before choosing a long-term partner; that provides the best chance that you'll make a love match.
I agree but why am I unable to do this

20. A man's beard grows fastest when he anticipates sex.
No Comment (if you work in the Registrar's Office you know what's up)

21. Every Valentine's Day, Verona, the Italian city where Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet took place, receives around 1,000 letters addressed to Juliet.
Men (and maybe a few women) are just dumb

21. When we get dumped, for a period of time we love the person who rejected us even more, says Dr. Helen Fisher of Rutgers University and author of Why We Love. The brain regions that lit up when we were in a happy union continue to be active.
Ummm...Maybe

22. People telling the story of how they fell in love overwhelmingly believe the process is out of their control.
Maybe

23. Familiarity breeds comfort and closeness … and romance.
Maybe

24. One in five long-term love relationships began with one or both partners being involved with others.
That is scary but probably true

25. OK, this one may not surprise you, but we had to share it: Having a romantic relationship makes both genders happier. The stronger the commitment, the greater the happiness!
Maybe

And you wonder...

We need help. We have to figure out as white men have been able to do all this time is to put a positive spin on negative publicity. We need to prevent things like this from happening and/or keep it out of the news.

This lady is a double whammy. She screws Obama and Palin.

Thank you to the good people at Crunktastcial for posting this.

Woman in cow costume arrested

MIDDLETOWN - A 32-year-old woman was sentenced to a month in the Middletown Jail Monday after she was arrested and charged with chasing children, blocking traffic and yelling at police - all while wearing a cow costume. Michele Allen pleaded guilty Monday in Middletown Municipal Court to one count of disorderly conduct, court officials said.

Middletown police said she chased children in the 3100 block of Wilbraham Road and urinated on a neighbor's porch Saturday night. An officer ordered her to go home and stay there.

About 11 p.m., police were called to the 2400 block of North Verity Avenue after receiving a report that a woman in a cow costume was blocking traffic.

Allen had alcohol on her breath, slurred her words, was belligerent and swore at the officer, a report states. Source

Now this fool.

I wonder if you get a door prize for number 2,000?

Kentucky Man Arrested For 1,000th Time

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) -- He's hit another a milestone. A Lexington man, famous for how many times he's been arrested, took his 1,000th trip to jail.

Police arrested Henry Earl for alcohol intoxication, a charge he's faced hundreds of times before. Earl is a pseudo-celebrity because of his extensive record. He's been featured on late night talk shows and has several websites dedicated to tracking his arrest record.

Earl's 1,000th arrest happened late Monday night on South Limestone. He'll be in court Tuesday afternoon to answer to this latest charge.

If you're wondering what 1,000 arrests equals, here's a look at Henry Earl's history.

In all, he's spent 4,123 days in jail.

35 of his 1000 arrests have been this year alone, landing him behind bars 189 days in 2008.

On average, Earl is out of jail about two days before he lands back behind bars, although this time he was out for four days before his latest arrest.

Gotcha!!

Gotcha Journalism.

She was talking to a voter.

If she is being outsmarted by the voter how will she fair in world affairs. How many times do I have to say the same thing over and over again before it is heard.

Hypocrisy is a bitch.

I don't know what I'm more excited to see. The actual vice presidential debate or Tina Fey on SNL making fun of the debate.

Someday...

I Hear Alicia

I hear Alicia Keys. I've been hearing her for a few weeks now and damnit she is talented. As I grow older and wiser I've learned how to decipher the crap I read on Okayplayer. I've read people write things like with every album that Alicia Keys has the music gets worse. I don't see that as possible. But I guess that is just my opinion.

I've been listening to the Alicia Keys Unplugged album more than anything and I have to see her live one day. If just to hear her sing this song.

If I were you woman
And you were my man
You'd have no other woman
You'd be weak as a lamb
If you had the strength
To walk out that door
My love would over rule my sense
And I'd call you back for more

If I were your woman
If you were my woman
If I were your woman
If you were my woman
If I were your woman
If you were my woman
And you were my man

Yeah
She tears you down Darling
Says you're nothing at all
But I'll pick you up Darling
When she lets you fall
You're like a diamond
And she treats you like glass
Yet you make it hard to love you
But Babe don't ask

If I were your woman
If you were my woman
If I were your woman
If you were my woman
If I were your woman
If you were my woman
Here's what I'd do
I'd never no, no, no stop loving you

Yeah
Life is so crazy
And love is unkind
Because she came first
Will she hang on your mind
You're a part of me
And you don't even know it
I'm what you need
But I'm too afraid to show it

If I were your woman
If you were my woman
If I were your woman
If you were my woman
If I were your woman
If you were my woman
Here's what I'd do
I'd never, no, no, no stop loving you

If I were your woman
Here's what I'd do
I'd never, never, never stop loving you
If I were your woman
You're sweet lovin' woman

If I were your woman
If you were my woman
If I were your woman
If you were my woman
If I were your woman
If you were my woman...

...you'd need no other woman

My line sister said to me one day (we were in the car and the Jagged Edge remake of Come and Talk to Me came on) she understands why her parents got mad when they heard one of their songs remade on the radio. That Jagged Edge song was just garbage.

I love Gladys and no one will ever do this song like her, but I think Ms. Keys comes in a distant second.

OK I hate the clock in the middle but I wanted Gladys live.

...distant second

Tina Fey does it Again

Tina Fey is just brillant.

How to Be a Bad Writer (in 10 Easy Lessons) By Langston Hughes

Another Gem from Okayplayer courtesy of Damali.

HOW TO BE A BAD WRITER (in Ten Easy Lessons) by Langston Hughes
1. Use all the cliches possible, such as "He had a gleam in his eye," or "Her teeth were white as pearls."

2. If you are a Negro, try very hard to write with an eye dead on the white market--use modern stereotypes of older stereotypes--big burly Negroes, criminals, low-lifers and prostitutes.

3. Put in a lot of profanity and as many pages as possible of near pornography and you will be so modern you pre-date Pompei in your lonely crusade toward the best seller lists. By all means, be misunderstood, unappreciated and ahead of your time in print and out, then you can be felt sorry for.

4. Never Characterize Characters. Just name them and then let them go for themselves. Let all of them talk the same way. If the reader hasn't imagination enough to make something out of cardboard cut-outs, shame on him!

5. Write about China, Greece, Tibet, or the Argentine pampas--anyplace you've never seen and know nothing about. Never write about anything you know, your hometown, or your home folks, or yourself.

6. Have nothing to say, but use a great many words, particularly high-sounding words, to say it.

7. If a playwright, put into your script a lot of hand-waving and spirituals, preferably the ones everybody has heard a thousand times from Marion Anderson to the Golden Gates.

8. If a poet, rhyme June with moon as often and in as many ways as possible. Also, use thee's and thou's and 'tis and o'er, and invert your sentences all the time. Never say "The sun rose, bright and shining." But, rather, "Bright and shining rose the sun."

9. Pay no attention really to spelling or grammar or the neatness of the manuscript. And in writing letters, never sign your name so anyone can read it. A rapid scrawl will better indicate how important and how busy you are.

10. Drink as much liquor as possible and always write under the influence of alcohol. When you can't afford alcohol yourself, or even if you can, drink on your friends, fans and the general public. If you are white, there are many more things I can advise in order to be a bad writer, but since this piece is for colored writers, there are some things I know a Negro just will not do not even for writing's sake, so there is no use mentioning them.

PWD

Posting while drunk

I am too old to use liquor as an excuse for the drunk phone call. I don't know if I'm drunk or just really nice either way I have something to say.

I went to the nail salon today for a pedicure and when the lady took the polish she told me my toe nail was about to fall off.

It had broken at the bottom and the crazy thing was it had already started to grow back

I didn't feel it

Has anyone else lost a toe nail and just didn't know about it?

I didn't want her to cut. Never lost an entire toe nail before didn't want to let go.

We just put polish over it and decided to keep it moving.

Presidential Debate Part 1

I'm so vexed at C-SPAN right now. I started to record the debate on Channel 7 but cancelled that in favor of C-SPAN. Its a good thing I turned it to C-SPAN to find out I would have taped an hour and half of Congressional Session.

Obama: Orgy of Spending

McCain: Maverick from the Senate and I have a Maverick that is with me. I think I can count on my one hand the amount of times I've seen those two together since she accepted the nomination. Sarah Palin makes women look bad. I love Senator Clinton and I think she would have made a great president or even vice president. I understand why Obama didn't chose her.

But...I would have given a months salary to see Senator Clinton debate Governor Palin. Shit I will take a Chelsea Clinton Palin debate.

I want to listen to John McCain but it scares me that his face doesn't move when he speaks.

I don't think Obama should give a definite timeline for withdrawal and aid to soldiers in Iraq.

What I don't understand the McCain platform. How to speak of change when you support the reason we need the change.

McCain I'm getting a little tired of the war references. I don't know if he is doing that to show strength or is that shell shock that is just coming out.

I think McCain is a hypocrite to talk about prudence and not saying everything that you think. Bush does that shit all the time.

Where does McCain have all of these town hall meetings? I know he never had one in New York.

Obama: No US solider ever dies in vain.

McCain: League of Democracy? Ummm yeah. Sounds similar to that thing we've had since 1945.

Did he stutter or was that the early stages of a slight stroke?

I think it is important to mention that Senator Obama spoke of Iran as an emerging threat

Maybe he is not looking at Obama, because the has too much botox in his face and can no longer move his neck?

McCain have your own opinion the question was your stance on Russia not what was wrong with Senator Obama's statement

I'm glad Lehrer recognizes that McCain just repeated what Obama said.

Even though McCain has been friends for 35 years I'm glad Obama has more knowledge of his opinion

I think I am developing a crush on Senator Obama

If I watch this again I will edit.

Little Gems From OkayPlayer

Sometimes you have to get past the post titled "You shoulda married that light skinned girl" or the "how do you masturbate" post to find some little gems of wisdom on the boards. I've seen them several times over the years and decided to start recording them in my own little piece of the blogger sphere. I can't really say I'm sharing it with the world because I have no readers but I digress. Maybe lack of readers is a good thing after my "Streams of Consciousness" (Courtesy of Kristy)

Now a little background to keep you up to speed. Okayplayer loryn (also a soror of mine) just broke up with her boyfriend. Well he broke up with her after a year and a half. I guess it took him that long to figure out there was no spark.

Shay Butta says,

"New People, New Places, NEW STUFF!
Mourn.
Grieve.
It IS a loss.
But ultimately, the more time you spend mourning people who have, for whatever reason, decided to move on, the less time you could be applying yourself to finding the new people, new places and new stuff.Feel however you need to feel.
But remember, you got new people, new places and new stuff waiting on you.Don't keep it waiting too long.

It's a loss. You were digging or even LOVING this person, and they just decide they wanna leave for whatever reason. And no reason they give you is gon be good enough, but the reason they gave you is particularly lame.It sucks. It hurts.Cry. Acknowledge it, cause if you don't, it's gon come knock you on your ass later.Take this whole week and feel it. Confront the memories. But October 1st? See about some of that new stuff! EmptyComp is right--turn to friends and try to get out the house.I usually prescribe 6 months of singlehood for every year y'all were together--it takes that long sometimes to get back to You, you know.

"NOOOOO MA'AM"
Set your Breakup Meter to "1" and KEEP IT MOVING.That "open to getting back together" shit is just his way of 'letting you down easy', cause if he really wanted to be with you and try to make it work, he wouldn'ta left.Fuck im.Great guy, yeah, yeah, yeah, but seriously, he's bogus for that one.I hate to quote that book, but yeah, if he were really feelin you and down to make it work, he wouldn'ta broke up with you.

Cocoapeach says,

"Oh God, this right here is some boolsheet"
He got it good, done got bored, wants to get with other girls while you waiting in the wings for a "possible" future that may never happen. Sheeeeyit. Wanna be friends bullshit. He done forgot what you are worth.

Binlahab says, Advice from men is always welcome. Its damn near Gospel.
"don't be that chick"
if its over let it be over that means no friends dont be his insurance policy

Flex goes in on R Kelly

I found this by way of Fwmj's website who I found by way of Okayplayer. I noticed something as of this week. I haven't listened to anything of R Kelly's since the verdict came him acquitting him of child pornography.

When Halle Berry and Eric Benet divorced I was on the "I hate Eric Benet" bandwagon but then I heard his new song.

I liked it.

I decided from then on that what artists did in their personal life should have no bearing on if I like their music. I was able to separate what happened between Eric and Halle. Why can't I accept the fact that R Kelly was found not guilty by a jury of his peers.

His appearance on BET sums it up. It's not the only thing. You know when you hear enough grease about a person constantly after a while it starts to have a ring of truth.

One Knee Jerk Decision to the Next

To get my mind off of the fact that I actually said yes I did something I hadn't done in over a month.

I put my match.com profile back up with pictures. I haven't given them any money nor do I think I will. But needless to say I put myself back on the market.

It's been a month. It took me about two months to find him. It may take longer to find the next one.

I still miss him and think about him often.

I think about the quiet and peace in his house.

I think about sleeping next to him in his bed.

I think about his Cologne.

I want to call him but I know I shouldn't

What's so different (c) Ginuwine

The last time I was honestly searching for the one. This time not so much.

I will probably delete it in the morning.

Ok Just Breathe

I have a headache now

I think I need some bush tea

My grandma if she were alive would give me bush tea

I already know what my dad would have said

I should try to go to sleep

No Seriously

What did I just say yes to? I'm scared. I almost want to call a doctor.

I know she is shady

You know this is bad news

Will this possibly mess up your current situation

You know it will

You know they are nosy

You know you love your privacy

You know this is a bad idea

But you still said yes.

Yes

You ever say yes to something then instantly regret it the second the words left your lips?

Yeah I'm going through that right about now.

You have to Really Worry

About people that use fear to win elections. I like how we conveniently forget that at one point in this country's history the elite and powerful used fear to justify slavery and sexism.

Fear of terrorism, fear of God and fear of liberal ideals has helped the Republican party win the last two elections. After scaring the American people on those issues what is next? I can tell what is next is a continued build up of intolerance for anyone that does not share your morals and ideals.

Two sides of a Coin

Bristol Palin is pregnant. We all know this and we all know that Bristol Palin is not the first and the last teenage girl to get pregnant. Do we pass judgement on her parents? Well maybe her father. But we all know what teenage girls are like they are going to do what the want to do regardless. Any kid that grew up with siblings knows at least one kid in the family isn't going to turn out right. There is going to be at least one kid that is going to make the parents think what did we do wrong?

Bristol Palin's pregnancy brings to light many things about the tactics of the Republican party. The one thing you can say about the Republican Party is they may not know how to run a country but they know how to win a campaign. They are all about strategy, maybe that is why they love to invade countries and plan wars. They are good at planning and good at winning. We have to look at John McCain choosing a random woman from Alaska as his running mate. Pure tactic. They have a lot of faith in John McCain's health because I really don't.

I have a major issue with the Republican Party.

It's not the conservative views I've always considered myself to be more of a moderate Democrat. Some things in this world need a conservative view to it. But what bothers me the most is this attitude of its the conservative way or you are a bad American. Why does life have to be rigid? And clearly with the current times the old way isn't working. Sarah Palin is all for conservative values but that still didn't stop her own daughter from going against them.

I had more to say but this was a saved post. I'm going to leave this be for now.

Reason # 4,080

Why I need to move out of my house. Other than my constantly deteriorating relationship with my mother and brother I am way over due.

As we all know because of August's tirade of posts I was just in a relationship. During this relationship I spent nights at this his house house and never told my mom where I was. Even though I didn't tell her where I was sleeping I am sure she knew. All of a sudden I was sleeping out spending every weekend with a guy.

Now me and the guy are broken up and I am back to be at home on weekends. What happens with the next guy. Even its a year from now I still look like a ho.

And the search continues....

90210

I was going to just DVR it and watch it at a later time but of course Dana is watching and had to call me to comment.

Dana told me that they have Andrea's daughter and Erin Silver on the show. Of course Dana and I knew when they were born on the old version and luckily the producers of this new show kept up the timeline.

What kills be about this show is the token black kid Dixon. Its nice they went all Brad and Angie and adopted a black kid but why couldn't there be a black family? Is it so hard to believe that a black family lives in Beverly Hills and has the same yuppy issues as other white kids?

Since when do high school girls give head in the parking lot.

What is that girl like 30. That was a great poke at the old show.

I see the cast the girl that was a crazy bitch on Nip Tuck.

They did a horrible job of photo shopping Kelly into that picture with the new guy.

Kelly looks fabulous.

Nate working a coffee machine.

I know a few black people that play lacrosse ;-)

And the black kids fights on the first episode. Of course cause we are all violent.

I would leave the night club I was at where I saw one of students.

Grandma is going to be funny

High school kids drive Bentleys

Erin Silver is a bitch

What happened to Jackie Silver?

They styled Kelly so well thus far

Ethan is a punk bitch

Don't be sad Dixon you can join a nice negro sport like basketball, football or track. We sure can run

I just love how soulful these white kids sound under the direction of the other token black character.

And who is the baby daddy?

The cure for a breakup is a hookup. Hmmm

Private Plane. Wasn't Diddy just flying American Airlines cause gas is too high?

Porn producing Dad. I love it

I need to visit San Fransisco

BRENDA!!!!!!!!!!!

What the hell is Brandon doing in Belize?

I just had a thought. Does Hannah Zuckerman-Vasquez live out of district too?

Dixon ain't no snitch.

Mel Silver is still creepin. Damn

She doesn't smoke why did she have a book of matches

Do they have the same Jack and Jill bathroom Brenda and Brandon had?

Super rich charming guy. Is he supposed to be Dylan McKay 2008?

Can't wait for next week.

I Just Had to Post this

I want to thank Corren for posting this. There is so much that can be said about this but I really don't have the time. There is so much to write about with so little time. I may write about several different subject today.
